Pyramid Communications blog: Facebook Fundraisers: Fad or Forever?

Remember when fundraising for your favorite cause meant convincing your coworkers to buy tubs of cookie dough, going door-to-door with magazine subscriptions, or endless laps around a track for walk-a-thons?

When my youth theatre needed to raise money for a new van, I cajoled my extended family into buying more than 30 rolls of wrapping paper and won the see-through phone of my dreams.

Giving Tuesday: Has It Worked?

So, did you accomplish all of your holiday shopping this weekend between Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, as-yet-unnamed Sunday (Shopping Sunday? Spendy Sunday?), and Cyber Monday, and still leave a little in the coffers to donate on Giving Tuesday? If you answered yes, then I applaud both your conscientiousness and your budgeting (and your ability to finish your Christmas shopping before, well, Christmas Eve). But I’m guessing more of you replied, “What’s Giving Tuesday?” Continue reading

Invest in the Unexpected at the Rep

With sold-out shows, flying wigs, and audiences clamoring for more, Jinkx and Major blew the roof off the Leo K. during The Vaudevillians, and took the fourth wall down right along with it. We’re so glad you could join us for this bawdy musical romp through the ages, and want to ask for your help so we can continue to put great work like this on our stages.

The Rep’s commitment to theatre like this means one-of-a-kind experiences for audience members—you never know what’s going to happen onstage, or who’s going to come out to the audience and sit on your lap.

We’re proud to be an incubator and a home for new work in Seattle, and couldn’t have invested in the great show that is The Vaudevillians without the generosity of our audiences. Will you give today to help us continue to put the unexpected on our stages?

P.S. Want to learn more about what happens behind the scenes at the Rep? A gift of $100 or more will secure you an invite to our Technical Dress Rehearsal of The Comparables, a brand-new play hitting our stage next March.

GiveBIG to Seattle Rep

June 30th Proclaimed Ben Moore Day in Seattle!

Hear ye, hear ye: Seattle City Council has officially declared today Ben Moore Day across the land (of Seattle)!

We’re thrilled to celebrate Ben’s 28 years of leadership with an official proclamation and a day filled with new plays, scarves, and beagles (three of Ben’s favorite things).

Ben committed so much of his career to the well-being of Seattle Rep. During his tenure, the Rep has seen the addition of a second theatre and strong financial stewardship all the way through. There’s no better way to celebrate Ben than with a donation in his honor today to recognize his achievements and continue his legacy.

And, remember our new play match: some generous friends of the Rep have challenged our donors to stretch their giving to support the new work Ben has fought so tirelessly to develop.

I hope you’ll join me in raising a glass (and a dollar or two) to Ben today!

Franklin High Teen Speak fundraising ask

Dear Manka,

“Accept me for who I am and what I stand for. I will raise my voice and no longer keep quiet.”

Aneesha, Franklin High Teen Speak

As a supporter of education and teens at Seattle Rep, you know that last week’s Franklin High Teen Speak performance was transformative for the teens onstage and in the audience. After months of hard work, the Franklin community came together to celebrate the voices and stories of Aneesha, Thien, Rebekah, and more. Continue reading
